A few weeks ago I did a tutorial showing how to add social media icons (or "share buttons") to the bottom of your blog posts. Did you add them to your blog? They help your blog followers easily share your posts on their favorite social media sites. If you haven't put them on your blog, be sure to add them! You can find out how to put them on here.
Sometimes when you upload a new free blog layout, you can't see your share buttons anymore. They look like they're not installed but Blogger shows that they are. I know several of you said you had this problem and from what I hear it's just a Blogger issue that randomly occurs. Luckily it's so easy to fix and just takes a few seconds.
*If your dashboard doesn't look like mine in the pictures below, be sure to update your dashboard to the new Blogger interface. Click here to learn how to do that. It too is super easy and well worth it!
How To Get Your Share Buttons To Show Tutorial
You'll first want to go to your Template page through your blog dashboard. Once there we want to click on the Edit HTML button.
Your HTML box will pop up and in the bottom left hand corner it says Revert Widget Templates to Default. Click that link and save.
Now you can see your social media share buttons and they will automatically show up after ever blog post you publish.

Thank you SO MUCH! I've been having this issue with my photography blog and didn't know how to fix it, though I assumed it had something to do with my customized settings.
ReplyDeleteWill this affect my other widgets that I don't want changed?
ReplyDeletemissysaprons@yahoo.com
Nope Missy. I've done this dozens of times and I've never had anything else change.

Thanks for the tip! I am having issues with the new interface. Some of the blogs I follow aren't showing up in the new one but when I revert back to the old one they are all there. Any idea why this might be?
ReplyDeleteHmmm, that's a good question Holly. I haven't heard that before. I assume it's because Blogger is still working on glitches with the new interface. Has this been happening for awhile?
ReplyDeleteI usually check my blogs using google reader and I haven't had a problem with that. If it's not too much trouble you might try going there instead of to your blogger dashboard to check your blogs. Just go to google.com/reader and it should all show up for you.
Hopefully that helps!

ReplyDeletereally enjoy reading your well written articles. I think you spend numerous effort and time in posting the blog. I have bookmarked it and I am looking ahead to reading new articles. Keep up the good articles.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that - simple and effective tip!
ReplyDeleteThat totally works! Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteIt worked but it looks like there is some text written over the buttons. Can you see what I mean on my blog? I can't make it out what it reads, but it is in my yellow blog title color.

Hey Renee, it looks normal when I view it. I wonder if it's just the web browser you're using. Which one do you use?

It worked for me too! Thanks so much for the tutorial. I have the same problem Renee has with the text over the buttons. How can I fix that?
