You could of course use them with any other layout though. These icons are kind of fun because you can make your own banner with them and choose your own colors. Have I mentioned I'm a little obsessed with banners right now? It needs to stop, I know. I can't help myself.
Pick which network icons you'd like, copy and paste the codes into your blog sidebar gadget and you have yourself a matching custom banner!
You can put these in your sidebar
or even under your blog header
When you make your own banner, all of these images are linked to Leelou Blogs website. To link them to your own social network sites, simply click on the images (once they're in your blog) and link them where ever you'd like them to go. I tried to make all the icons that were previously requested, so hopefully I'll have the ones you need. Sorry if I don't! More instructions are below if you still need help installing them.
-To install these icons on your blog...
-Go to your "Layout" tab
-Click on the "Page Elements" page
-Click on "Add a Gadget" to your sidebar
-Add an "HTML/Javascript" gadget
-Paste the code from the icon(s) you want to use (above). In the top right corner of the window you'll see the words "Rich Text". Click on that and you will see the icon images instead of the coding.
-Click on the image you want to link. Click the "Createlink" icon and you can now type the URL of your social media sites.
-Save and you have your new banner

Your tutorial is good but l would take me some time to do this but l think l'll have a try!:) Sandra H
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks so much for the freebie!
ReplyDeleteWhen I try to link my email it won't work. What am I doing wrong?
ReplyDeleteAmyK, When you want to link your email you have to do it a little differently. If you're email was Amy@gmail.com you would type: mailto:Amy@gmail.com for the link. Hopefully that helps!

Hi LeeLou,
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial and freebies for the social icons. I tried to set my Stumble Upon, but I am not sure where to get the html link to create the button. Any thoughts?? I would love to have these buttons in pastel colors?? Any chance of you having other colors??? Thanks again for your expertise.
