Well folks, it's time for me to climb back up on my soap box one more time. I just can't stop getting emails with questions about digital scrapbooking software. The most popular question I get ALL THE TIME is -What version of Photoshop should I get?
People! Please do not spend $600 on Photoshop! (Sorry Adobe!) Not that I don't TOTALLY love photoshop, but if you're not a graphic designer, don't waste your time...and money!
I can't tell you how sad I get when people email me to say they got Photoshop for digital scrapbooking and are pulling their hair out trying to learn it. It's super hard! If you're going to go that route, take some classes cause it's intense.
If you want to digital scrapbook and make beautiful wonderful things, I honestly recommend getting the digital scrapbook software from My Memories. It is the cheapest program I have run across and I digitally pinky promise you that it is so super easy! My friend got the program a few months ago and within 15 minutes of putting it on her computer, she made a 60 page album!
Some perks I love about this software are:
-They have quick pages that are premade so you can just plug your pictures in and go (which is ideal for me who can't keep up with my kids scrapbooks!)
-You can make pages from scratch (and edit pictures) to get them just how you want
-You can use any digital paper or elements that you want
-You're not limited to just layouts. You can make cards, calendars, movies, you name it. All that cute stuff you see online is now totally do-able by you!
Whew! Ok, I just had to get that out there one last time in case some of you folks are in the National Scrapbook Day Spirit. I can't bare another email from someone who just spent their life savings on a program that's so hard to figure out. So check out My Memories Suite. You will love love love it.
And I even have a discount for $10 off the software. That's spectacular.
I'm officially done raving. At least for now :)

Thank you so much!

jules, how is this different from memory mixer? you raved about that software, too, and i have yet to buy it. is one better than the other? easier? cuter? which one would you choose if you were picking between the two? be honest, i really want to get some sb software soon. thanks!
ReplyDeleteHey Brynn,
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I would recommend My Memories. The two programs are very similar, but My Memories has some features (and more on the way) that are better. Plus, they are putting together a killer tutorial section and blog that will help with any questions you might have. Plus, My Memories is cheaper with that discount, so that's a plus :)
Let me know if you have any more questions!
