Fellow bloggers!! I have some questions for you!
I've been tossing around some ideas for awhile and I want to see what you think! I'm teaming up with some other mommy bloggers and we want to do a blogging conference! Most of our traffic comes from Utah, so we'll probably start there.
- Would you be interested in attending/supporting a Leelou version of BlogHer? Meaning, a 2 day conference type meet-n-greet event with sponsors, Key note speakers, break-out classes, food and fine entertainment?
-How much would you be willing to pay for the event? The price of a one day ticket, or a whole package deal? Would you be interested in Hotel rates? When would you like to see it happen?
-Tell us when you would be inclined to want to attend. (remembering that June/August is off limits--those are when the big dogs play!)
-If you have a business would you be interested in participating? Either by being one of our sponsors OR where you could have a booth, hand out samples of your product etc on our "live blogging floor"?
-What type of "Break-out" classes would you be interested in attending? Blog design? Blogging 101? Photography classes or writing classes? Etsy 101? Digital scrapbooking? Tell us what you would like to learn.

A one day affordable event would be great with classes on quick html fixes, or blog design. Marketing ideas would also be helpful. Thanks for the great idea!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be a great idea. I would love to learn more on Blog Design, Html, Photography, Maybe even writing class. I would love to do a weekend thing...
ReplyDeleteI would love to come and learn more about blog design, how to make posts appeal to a larger audience, how to set up an Etsy account and tips to run a successful Etsy business... and just to meet other blogHer's and find all the fun blogs out there that I haven't yet discoverd. It would be really great if those who were attending were put on a categorized list by blog theme... I'm always looking for craft blogs, cooking blogs, money helps blogs, decorating blogs, sewing blogs, lds family blogs... Oh... this could be a great thing! I would attend if it were not more than $75. for a day ticket.

ReplyDeleteWhat would anyone do at a Leelou Conference? Why would it take 2 days to show people how to make backgrounds using Photoshop? You have a handful of followers, not an entire community.

ReplyDeleteI would love something like this. A photography class would be great...I also liked the idea someone else had about how to get more people to our blogs. Time frame? I guess sometime that the weather is a little better so it will allow people to drive if they would like. I'm in Idaho now and and I several people who would drive down to utah for the conference....I even know some from California and Canada that would come down if it was for more than 1 day.

Yes Yes Yes to all the above LeeLou! I would love come and support an event. Timing is everything but isn't summer an okay time (pending is doesn't conflict with the big ones), I know there are alot of out of towners that come and plan trips back to Utah. But really anytime would be fine. Let me know what I can do to help.

ReplyDeleteI would LOVE this but I can only do it in the summer months because I teach school. If it catches on could you come to CA?( Bay Area or Fresno Area) Then it wouldn't matter when.
ReplyDeleteLike the person before me, I teach school. If it is during a weekday, it would have to be during the summer. If you do it during the year, put it on a Friday/Saturday for a two day event or on a Saturday for a one day event.
ReplyDeleteIf it was affordable (no more than $25/day) I would love to come. I live in Utah County so having it in SL County would be a good choice. That way it would be more centralized.
I would love to go to blog design and photography classes!
If you can get people to donate their product for a bunch of freebies that would also be a good idea.
To the anonymous... why comment if you don't want to be involved with all of the fun LeeLou brings to the blogging world. We obviously use our brain to better the world not drag it down!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful opportunity this would be! I'm new to the whole digital world and would love to be involoved in blog design, digital scrapbooking, photo classes and much more. I think the spring would be good and a 1 or 2 day pass would be great.

ReplyDeleteI'm on the other side of the U.S., but I'd participate in something like this.
I'm in central Arkansas and a SAHM of 4 under the age of 5. So, travel to Utah is out of the question for me. However, if I could attend something like this closer to home, then I would...definitely! Would love classes in blog design and HTML.

And honestly, I would attend any classes offered. Who can't benefit from someone else's knowledge?
